Finding effective exercises for weight loss, especially for women can be very hard.  A woman’s body is designed differently then a mans, and those differences are what makes it harder for a women to lose weight.  So finding effective exercises for weight loss should not only be looked at for weight lose, but also looked at for creating a healthy and safe fitness routine.

1. Step Aerobics

Step aerobics is probably one of the most common aerobic workouts that a woman can do.  A large majority of workout programs and exercises incorporate a form of aerobics, so why not go right to the basics,  step aerobics.  Aerobics mainly targets a woman’s legs, hips, thighs and bum area.  Which are the area’s that women hold the most weight around and are the areas that they want to be toned.

Step aerobics can also incorporate weights into the routine, this allows you to work harder, burn more fat and tone up faster.  An excellent way to multitask while you are working out.

A great outdoor exercise, and a very versatile one at that.  Depending on the type of bike and bicycling that you want to do, you can really burn off those calories.  Depending on how fast and hard you are cycling, you can burn anywhere form 500 to 1000 calories an hour.

The nice thing is that you can even buy an indoor bike and ride while you are watching TV.

3. Swimming

Swimming is a very relaxing exercise, and can also be very refreshing in the summer months, or all year round, depending were you live.  It works practically every muscles in the body (if you do a variety of strokes).

Swimming the length of a pool for an hour can burn up to 800 calories, all while develop a stronger cardiovascular system and increase your endurance.

4. Racquetball

This intense, high paced game has a lot of side to side running involved, which translate to an amazing cardio workout, and will also help to tone you lower body, with a little toning in your arms and shoulders.

5. Elliptical Machine

The elliptical machine is most commonly seen in larger gyms.  This brilliant cardio machine, not only helps to build strong muscles but tones them at the same time.

The newer models allow you to watch TV, plug in your iPod or iPhone, so that you can listen to music or watch TV.  This entertainment will make your cardio workouts fly by.  So when watching that one hour of TV, you can burn up 600 calories.

6. Rowing

Rowing is a brilliant way to tone your arms, and is also a lot of fun. Get involved with the local rowing club and you’ll get to try it for free, or simply use the rowing machine at the gym. As well as building arm muscle, you’ll also burn calories and get an incredible workout.

7. Walking

Walking is the basics of all exercises and the easiest.  A brisk walking is a great cardio workout and will also help to tone legs, stomach and hips. 10. Zumba

Zumba has popped onto the fitness and gained hug momentum.  It mixes aerobics, with some crazy dancing, with good music and some hand eye coordination. 12. Hiking

Hiking, the kind were you are going up and down hills, heaving at least 2 – 3 liters of water with you, is what we are talking about.  This is a great exercise because you not only burn 350 calories an hour, but get to spend time outside, breath in the fresh air, absorb the suns warm rays (vitamin d) (be careful though, to much can  be dangerous) and spend time with your hiking partner.

13. WEIGHT TRAINING – IS ESSENTIAL EXERCISE FOR LOSING WEIGHT

While some of us don’t like to weight train, it is a good idea.  Weight training not only does good for our body, but has a positive impact on us mentally.  Not to mention that a good workout routine can burn up to 200 calories an hour, and keep us feeling young.

    One last thing, Have you heard anything pertaining to MUFAs (Mono Unsaturated Fatty Acids). If you have then can you please put up a write-up about that?
